SYNCHRONICITY- More Than Techno: A Chat With Aaron Hibell

Written by Summer Cirone | April 9th 2026

I got to pick the brain of UK’s EDM artist,  Aaron Hibell. Currently hitting 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify. His latest album, SYNCHRONICITY, is a beautiful blend of dance music, emotion, nature, techno and even flow. During the interview Aaron talks about how making his newest and FIRST official album has actually been so easy for him, he says that the music just “flows from him”. With this being Aaron’s biggest project, he claims each part of the album was intentional and very close to his self development. Making this album was not only personal to where it was made but also a huge emotional moment in his career. Aaron approaches making music with the concept of “allowing life to flow through you and not interrupt patterns. Allowing this project to come organically and over time”, he references how naturally the music comes out of him. Which to me, was very refreshing to hear from an artist. Although, he does believe in setting health limitations for himself. As a creative, he claims it’s easy to be overwhelmed, so he needs some limitations. However, not too many or it will suffocate the creativeness, just enough to keep him on track.

For any new listeners just finding Aaron Hibell, he hopes that you can sense his music was made with lots of care, lots of thought, and lots of emotion. When you see him live, you will understand why his music feels that way. Aaron is incredibly intimate at his shows, unlike other DJ’s. He is interacting with the crowd, sitting on the floor/edge of the stage. He is truly absorbing his fans enjoying his music. You can tell this all means so much more to him than just making dance music. This makes the moments at his concert so much more intoxicating, the energy, the vibe, the beats, the soul, Aaron has it all.

His music has such an immersive feel to it and that is intentional. Aaron takes on his tracks by building a world for the listener to step into, allowing you to be engulfed in the music entirely. By using elements of his world around him, Aaron incorporates sounds of his hometown beach. Using the wind, water, and dunes, he creates beautiful transitions that keep you exactly where he wants you. In a state of euphoria on a planet beach, where everything aligns effortlessly, in synchronicity. We asked Aaron what track he was most excited for on the album, and without hesitation he said “Open Your Eyes”, inspired by his love of epic soundtracks, trans/techno, and Hans Zimmer, he felt that that track specifically was a nice blend of it all. Which explains why the album feels so other worldly.

Aaron hints at his next album possibly being a “cityscape” theme, which would be a very cool opposite to this soundscape he has painted for us. Aaron believes that music helps the mind process culture and events. So keeping his music fresh and different is a key element for him. Excited to see what he does next! Aaron is currently on tour, so check out if he is in your city!
